Following some doom-and-gloom reports about the effect of the credit crunch on Independent schools, results from the recent schools census have shown that actually, more pupils than ever are attending private schools.
Even with an above-inflation rise in fees, pupil numbers in schools belonging to the Independent Schools Council have hit a record 511,677. This news comes on the eve of the annual ISC Conference and is likely to be a hot topic.
